Brisbane's most popular social frisbee league
The Brisbane Ultimate Mixed League (BUML) is Brisbane Ultimate’s most popular social league. Open to anyone and run two seasons a year, it offers players of any age, gender and experience level the opportunity to play ultimate frisbee in Brisbane.
The league is organised by teams and structured into divisions ensuring a healthy mix of fun in a socially competitive environment. Matches run for approximately 90 minutes (generally from 7:30p to 8:55p) on Monday nights.
The league has both South Brisbane and North Brisbane competitions. The Southside mixed league runs at venues across the South Brisbane area.
Player demographic
Males and Females Teams must field a 4/3 gender split
Experience Level All experience levels welcome, beginners are encouraged to start with BUML

Important dates to keep in mind
Season 2, 2021 is about to commence! New players and those looking for a team are encouraged to attend our Learn to Play/Pickup sessions in mid-August. Get started by submitting the ‘new player expression of interest’ form and we’ll work with you to find you a suitable team for the current season.
Games are played from 7:30pm – 8:55pm – lights on/warmup from 7:00pm (at most venues). Field Times

What's happening with the league
The default ratio is 4M:3F (4 male and 3 female) on the field
If a team cannot field 3 women, that team may play 4M:2F or 4M:1F. The opposing team can still play with a full team.
Captains are not obliged to agree to any changes, however they may choose to agree to : – play a different gender ratio rule – borrow a player from the other team – play with fewer players on the field
Three time-outs per team per game.
Maximum of two time-outs per team per half.
No time-outs in the last 10 minutes of the game.
A forfeit will occur if a team cannot field 5 players, at least one of each gender, within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time or anytime after the game has started.
Points cap is 17 with mirror half at 9 points.
When “last point” is called, play stops at the next goal.
Ties are allowed for regular league games. For quarter finals, semi-finals and finals, if scores are tied, one more point will be played to decide the winner.
Game Duration
Only players registered at least five games prior to the finals are eligible to play finals.
If a field is unavailable or closed in on week (e.g. due to weather), then other games will continue. All efforts will be made to re-schedule or re-locate cancelled games. If a game is not played then there will be no result.
